KING TANKTECHNIC LTD Annual Spring Cleaning - a little early but necessary!
The
New Year is always a time to sit back and look at yourself and ask what can I change for the better?
Here at Kingtank we are no different and this year decided to start our spring cleaning early.
In our substantial yard we have two bunded tank areas which we use to store and settle the sludge we remove from storage tanks on retail sites during the process of cleaning. Our above ground tanks need regular service and maintenance too, just like any other site which has above or underground fuel storage tanks.
Steve our director working closely with Rick (Depot Manager) and Stuart (Site Supervisor- the one in the photo right) started a clean-up and maintenance project here at Fairfield Road. The pictures show in detail just how efficient and experienced our work force is in their field of work. All the correct safety controls were put in place just as if it were a job site for a customer. Risk Assessments, Tool Box Talks and Procedures were all carried out by the book.
The images show our expert technicians at work in the process of cleaning our storage tanks.
As a fuel service station owner/manager you may have never actually seen what is present inside your tanks, take a closer look at our images and you will. (All the sludge in these pictures has come from tanks just like yours) The fuels that you store are in part organic and therefore sediment or waste is formed within them as they are stored. The fuel in the upper portions of your tanks is constantly moving as your customers buy your products from the pumps and your fuel supplier delivers new fuel to your station.

But did you know that very often the fuel in the lower portion (‘tank bottoms’ we call it in
the trade) of your tank moves around very little if at all!
This allows settlement of a sludge-like product (see photo right).
To efficiently remove this sludge which contaminates your tank bottoms there is only one solution – Man Entry Tank Cleaning.
Kingtank technicians are expert in this field.
We are in our twentieth year of business in 2011, many of our technicians have almost as many years experience in this field of work.
The images show some of the stages of the Tank Cleaning Process being carried out safely and with care for the environment.

Kingtank have carried out this procedure safely thousands of times in the last twenty years. There are some in the industry that do not rest easy with the thought of men inside tanks but as you can see from these images, in the profession of cleaning, ‘getting your hands dirty’ is the best and only way to go about it properly.
Our depot here in Manchester is adjacent to a beautiful canal, where people regularly pass with their Narrow Boats. Walkers and Cyclists use the path nearby and there are always birds and wildlife around the water. So as you can imagine we would not want any risk to this environment from our yard.

Spring will be upon us before long and we can now rest easy knowing our yard is a safe and cleaned place in which to work.
